Formula 1 BBC TV scheduling calendar

By

As everyone knows the BBC have made a royal faux pas with F1 and have given up basically all the live coverage to Sky. They have also scheduled odd highlights times and so forth for the rest of the season.

So, in order to keep myself on top of what I should be watching and when (paying Sky is, of course, not an option), I made a calendar with all the scheduling in it. This calendar is meant to be in compliment to the F1 calendar (you can get it in a super nice format here, thanks Ian for the reminder) as all sessions will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 5 Live (5 Live Sports Extra for the practice sessions) – so refer to the session calendar for when that will be on (it starts 5 minutes before and ends 5 minutes after the sessions usually).

Here are the links to the calendar: XML (for RSS readers and the like); ICal (Google Calendar, iOS, etc.) and HTML (for embedding in web pages).

Please send any errors or omissions to me using the Contact link above, e-mail usually gets to me fastest. So far the BBC have only published times for the first two races, so I will try and keep up with them as they publish (it would be handy if they published it all now really).

Here we go!

Star Trek geek-out

By

For my birthday, I was lucky enough to receive a Star Trek box set containing the best Borg episodes from all seasons as voted for by Trekkies themselves.

One of the first I watched (resisting the urge to watch chronologically) was an episode called Endgame, the final episode (or 2 if you watched it on TV and they split it up) from the entire Voyager series.

Now I happen to think that this is pretty much the best you’re going to get – an absolutely classic and undoubtedly awesome piece of television which wraps up my favorite Star Trek series of them all. Some would argue it is too abrupt an end, but I think it is a good compromise.

Seven of Nine

I mentioned Voyager so gratuitous pictures of Seven of Nine are authorised

Anyway, back to the point of the post – after I proclaimed how much I liked the episode, a lot of other people piped in with their suggestions for what they thought constituted the best-ever episode of Star Trek. Here’s a run-down of the suggestions. (It’s well worth reading to the bottom).

Why ITV Sucks

By

ITV haven’t had a very good few days.

Error after catastrophic error have caused them a substantial PR disaster, with Twitter users lamenting (at least when Twitter was up) about the poor service being provided.

Here’s why I think ITV should left to wither and important broadcasts given to the BBC.

Doctor Who tonight – don’t forget

By

The new series of Doctor Who continues tonight at 6.30pm on BBC 1.

Even only 2 episodes in, this series is shaping up particularly well. Excellent writing from the new team, great visual effects, and gorgeous shooting – all of the episodes look visually stunning.

There is, of course, the other reason that just about every man in the country will be tuning in (more after the break).
