Thanks to everyone who came along yesterday to #rdggeek 7, I know I had a great evening and really enjoyed the other presentations.
My 5-minute presentation ramble about SEO was hopefully useful in at least a little way to some people, and just in case you want more of my lolcat-infused musings then you can feel free to go grab the slides from below.
As I said on the night (or at least I think I did), please don’t take this as a magic potion to solve all your SEO woes overnight, because that will only end up with you unhappy, a lawsuit, expensive trials and me feeling the wrath of “SEO experts” all over the world…
Thanks to everyone who came to my Reading Geek Night presentation about IE 9 and HTML 5 last night!
It was a pleasure talking to you all, and hopefully you got something out of the evening.
All my slides on the night were powered by HTML 5, so I have zipped them up (minus the space shuttle launch video – it was HD so quite a big file) and they are now available to download below.
Hopefully catch up with you all at an event soon!
Tonight I will be presenting at the Reading Geek Night (#rdggeek on Twitter), on the subject of “IE 9 and the Future of the Web”.
Why not come along? It’s at 7.30 at Copa bar in central Reading (map), and is a great opportunity to meet and catch up with local geeks.
I’ll be talking about the latest Platform Preview of IE 9, and some very cool new technology that is in the works for all the major web browsers, in the shape of HTML 5.
Hope to see you there!
A few months ago I was asked to do a presentation at the University of Reading for students about to go into their final year of their IT degrees. The subject of the presentation was how Microsoft tools and technology could help them complete their aims of their final year projects.
I put together a presentation, and as part of that I also put together a practical which I encouraged the attendees to complete to give them a sample of what they could do with Visual Studio on Windows and Silverlight.
If you’re interested in Windows development but don’t know where to start, or you’d like to get stuck into Visual Studio but need a few pointers, I have attached the file below for you to download and have a go.
Let me know any feedback and how you get on in the comments!
