Internet World 2010

By

Yesterday I was lucky enough to tag along to Internet World. I spent most of the day on the TweetMeme stand, but I did find time to visit some friends in other companies and take part in a panel at lunchtime.

Great to catch up with everyone on the @TweetMeme stand, and see all the guys from @Huddle and @DediPower again!

Getting Started with Agile Development

By

I recently wrote about how students can make use of Team Foundation Server to improve management of their projects, include version control, and generate reports suitable for their assignments.

You may have also covered various development approaches in your courses at University – and you may have heard approaches like “waterfall”, “agile”, “scrum” and more being batted around – I did and I had no idea what they were on about. After a total of 2 years working in 2 startups (Huddle and TweetMeme) its all starting to make a lot more sense. But without that practical experience, I would have had no idea what these terms meant and what it was like to apply them.

Team Foundation Server is designed to be extensible to support various development profiles. As a result it is a great way to get started actually applying these principles, which will provide all kinds of advantages to you in your projects.

Clustr Sneak Peek: Coming Soon

By

Some of you may remember my project from several months ago called Clustr. Essentially it offers a way of accessing your Huddle.net workspaces from your iPhone or mobile phone.

Today I’m pleased to be able to give you a sneak preview of what’s coming next for Clustr.

As Huddle has evolved, we’re looking to give you even more ways to get the most out of your investment into the platform. First, Clustr gave you a way to get to your workspaces wherever you were. Now, Clustr Mobile is just one part of the solution.

How Customer Support Should Be

By

Last weekend there was a post on TechCrunch about a US company that had just opened up out of private beta which was offering a service that automatically monetises outbound links on your website by passing them through referral URLs.

I recognised the business model from Skimlinks, a company I came across while I was at Huddle in 2008.
