IPad: 24 hours in

By

So, 24 hours in to the iPad experience, what do I make of it?

In short – brilliant. There’s nothing quite like the iPad for doing some activities and working in certain ways. We all know how I feel about the iPhone – worthless piece of junk that it is. For me, the iPad offers a lot more than an iPhone and a laptop or netbook in many different ways, such that I can comfortably accommodate it in my ever-growing arsenal of hardware.

Here’s why.

IPad: The Unboxing

By

Well the iPad finally arrived the other day (I say arrived – I cancelled the Apple order and drove to the local Currys and bought one in the shop), and no good gadget is complete without an unboxing set of photos. These were done in quite a rush (I wanted to get it open!) but wanted to post them nonetheless.

Joggler: The Unboxing

By

So you may have seen TweetMeme went a little Joggler-crazy last week, with a grand total of 6 turning up in our office (although not all at the same time).

This is because Dom turned up one day, said they were on offer for £50, showed us all the software and hardware hacks, and we were all completely sold!

I’d like to tell you about all the hacks we’ve managed so far a little later on. But for now, here are some unboxing shots and the default OS in action.

I Am Not Technical Support

By

I don’t know about you, but among many of my friends I am often called upon first in any case of computer trouble. (I literally mean any in this case.)

Now don’t get me wrong, I try to be a nice person and I definitely don’t mind helping someone out once in a while, and when they have tried themselves to fix the problem.

Nexus One: First Impressions

By

What better way to write about the Nexus One, than on the Nexus One itself?

But first, a little history.

Until a few days ago, I had had a Nokia E61i, my then favourite phone of all time. Full QUERTY keyboard, S60 OS power, good 3G and E-mail, but most of all my loyal companion for many years.

For a short while (while that was out of commission) I had had an original iPhone; I found that a rather painful device, as my numerous posts on the subject gently hint at.

And last Thursday we embarked on the next phase – a Nexus One appeared on my desk.

Here’s my thoughts on the phone, having had it in my hands for a few short days.
