Chrome to Phone now available for Froyo users

Remember that awesome demo done on-stage at Google IO’s day 2 keynote? (If not, I embedded it below).

They showed off Froyo’s data push system by having a Chrome extension, that when clicked, opened the same web page you were viewing on your Android phone.

Now, you can go download the application to your phone, and install the Chrome extension, and everything just works!

Howto: force the Froyo update to your Nexus One

I may have gotten a little impatient while waiting for my Nexus One to update to Froyo.

So I took my phone into my own hands and followed some instructions online on how to force the update onto your phone. Turns out, it’s not so painful, but the instructions are less than clear. So I combined some together, made a video, and hopefully it should be simple now!

Well I managed to wedge the Froyo update on to my Nexus One, at last. I got a bit impatient waiting for it, so seeing as it was the official download I thought I’d take the opportunity to give it a go. I haven’t had much of a chance to play with it so far, but this is what I’ve made note of.

If you see me on a somewhat regular basis (or read a few posts on my site here and there) you’re probably sick to death of me harping on about how awesome my Nexus One is.

If this is you, or you are totally in love with your iPhone and won’t have a bad word said about it (or you have something better to be doing than reading arguments about mobile phones) then this post probably isn’t for you.

For the rest of you, here is a very simple reason the Nexus One is the best phone ever made, and why it will be difficult to knock it from that post.
